YEAR 8
Year 8 have come to the end of their first term at Matravers School. They have settled in brilliantly,
showing a range of skills, talents and excellence.
Below is our roll of honour, for tutee of the week. These the pupils who achieved the status of Tutee of Week, nominated by tutors and then awarded in assembly by me. This award is a prestigious award for which students ought to be very proud.

AWFUL AUNTIE
Many of you may well remember our trip last year to see Gangsta Granny, it was clear that the pupils who went thoroughly enjoyed it and so we thought that we should go and see Awful Auntie. Again our pupils were an absolute credit to the year group, the school and most of all, you, their parents and Westbury community. The theatre even commented on how well behaved and well mannered our pupils were!
YEAR GROUP COMMENTS 8.1
Once again it has been an absolute delight working with 8.1. They have came back after summer as creative and ambitious as ever and I look forward to the rest of the year with them.
Miss Cummings
My highlight of the year was the Porgy and Bess trip to London with the music department. Amy
My highlight of the year was when I was rehearsing for We Will Rock You and it is really fun. Skye
Our highlight of the year so far is going the school’s Christmas choir and attending all the fun trips to the
church. Faith and Ashlea. 8.2

They have really impressed me with their growing levels of maturity and their willingness to get stuck in and approach tasks with a real ‘can do’ attitude. The sense of community has been fantastic as they have continued to support each other through difficult times and shared in their celebrations when things have gone well. It is a continuing pleasure to spend time with them on a daily basis as they grow up and face new challenges, sometimes with a sense of
