INCLUSION (continued)

WHAT A FABULOUS GARDENING CREW WE HAVE They worked hard throughout the summer term, to produce a great harvest and a lot of watering was needed too! So in the last week of term they took their produce to the kitchen and made quite a feast! They invited a few members of staff along with a few of their friends to sample the following.

• Potato, radish and whole grain mustard salad. • Marrow fritters • Beetroot dip with mint • Raspberry oat traybake • Raspberries with meringue and yoghurt mousse.

One thing that did make me laugh, was over hearing a student saying whilst digging up the potatoes ‘Wow! look at these golden nuggets’. And they certainly were!

HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE

YEAR 10

The Year 10 students have made a great start to their BTEC course. The students have been learning all about development norms, looking how individuals grow and develop. They have delved deeper into the content looking at factors that can affect this development, both positively and negatively. Alongside their individual learning, students have had the opportunity to take part in group activities, producing an information poster around growth and development, in preparation for the assignment.

YEAR 11

Year 11 have had a busy start to the year, diving straight back into their assignment work, working extremely

hard. They have just started their role play unit, where they have had the opportunity to explore care values in a practical way. Although a challenging task, the students have shown great resilience in tackling the challenge.

SIXTH FORM

Post 16 have made a great start to their studies this year, with Year 12 engaging in human lifespan development and year 13 looking at working within health and social care. After learning the content this week post 16 have had a go in role reversal, where they became the teachers. Both year 12 and 13 had to plan and deliver a 20 minute lesson, to their peers developing both their knowledge and personal skills.
