Level 3 BTEC Circus Skills Diploma in Performing Arts This exciting one year intensive course is run in conjunction with the National Centre for Circus Arts (NCCA). It provides an opportunity to develop real work skills in circus skills and performance, so that you can move on to a higher level qualification in this area or other performing arts professions. The circus elements of the course cover disciplines including acrobatics, aerial, equilibristics, physical theatre and circus manipulation. You’ll also study and practise wider performing arts including performing to an audience, performing arts business, movement skills in performance, performance workshop, devising plays, dance performance and ballet. Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs at grades A-C, or BTEC Level 2 Diploma (merit); plus a successful audition and interview. Please note that application for this course is via NCCA. Application forms can be downloaded from their website: www.nationalcircus.org.uk. Ask us about the closing date for applications. We can only accept applicants from the UK and other EU/EAA countries.


Possible next steps: Higher Education (e.g. Circus Arts, dance or physical theatre) or employment in the performing arts industry. This course is run in partnership with The National Centre for Circus Arts and is designed to feed into their HE programmes.

Days per week: 5 days (3.5 days at HCC and 1.5 days at the National Centre for Circus Arts)
