Hospitality and Catering students

in our industry-standard kitchens, bar and
restaurant, Open Kitchen on Hoxton Street.
Level 2 Diploma in Hospitality Services This qualification is for people working in, or who wish to enter, the hospitality industry. You’ll learn a whole range of workplace duties, which include serving customers, preparing and serving drinks and food, and preparing areas for customers. You will get maths, English/ ESOL support.
Entry requirements: A Level 1 qualification would be helpful. You’ll also take a college assessment in English and maths.
Possible next steps: Work in the hospitality industry or a Level 3 qualification.
Length of course (weeks): 36
Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery: Preparation and Cooking This part-time course is designed for people who are working in a professional kitchen and want to achieve a formal qualification. You will be assessed in our own, real work environment, Open Kitchen Bar & Restaurant.
Entry requirements: You must be employed and have a professional approach to food preparation and cooking.
Possible next steps: NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery.
Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: One day a week.
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery: Preparation and Cooking This course is ideal if you want to become a highly skilled, professional chef. You will learn modern cookery skills helping you to gain successful employment when you complete the course.
Entry requirements: Level 2 Hospitality course and a College interview and assessment.
Possible next steps: Foundation Degree in Hospitality Management or employment.
Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 12.5
