Level 2 BTEC First Extended Certificate in Business This is a practical, work-related course which will help you to learn about key issues faced by retailers and small businesses. It prepares students for work, work placement or progression to Level 3 Diploma courses.
Entry requirements: Successful completion of the Level 1 BTEC in Business or related courses, GCSEs at grades D-G and/or college assessment.
Possible next steps: Level 3 BTEC 90-Credit Diploma in Business or BTEC Extended Diploma in Business.
Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 14 minimum
Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma/BTEC Diploma in Business) The Subsidiary Diploma is a one year course equivalent to one A Level and is suitable for students who want to develop a solid grounding in business by studying a lesser number of units. You will use case studies and scenarios to solve business problems, and complete unit assignments. The units include business environment, marketing, accounting, communication and market research.
Entry requirements: Successful completion of the Level 2 BTEC in Business or related areas, GCSEs at grades A-D and/or college assessment.
Possible next steps: Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Business (Top-up) or employment.
Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 14 minimum
Level 3 BTEC 90 Credit Diploma/Extended Diploma in Business This is an intensive course specially designed to provide students with a solid grounding in business. You will use case studies and scenarios to solve business problems, and complete unit assignments. The units you will study include business environment, business accounting, recruitment and selection, impact of communications technology on business, managing and developing teams, website design and market research. The 90-Credit Diploma is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels whilst the Extended Diploma is equivalent to 3 A Levels.
Entry requirements: Successful completion of the Level 2 BTEC in Business or related areas, GCSEs at grades A-C and/or college assessment.
Possible next steps: Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Business (Top-up), Level 4 BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Business, university or employment.
Length of course (weeks): 36 weeks for 90-Credit Diploma/ 72 weeks for Extended Diploma
