UNIVERSAL STUDIOS / CITY OF DREAMS

Company: Universal-Effects Location: Various

In May 2011, Universal-Effects provided 10 big, DMX-driven confetti machines on rotating towers for the Grand Opening of Universal Studio Resort in Singapore. These machines were used for the main parade, achieving an extremely beauti- ful and massive effect. The machines used were Power Head Projection 500’s mounted on ST-Power Base 500’s and Power Shoot Tower 500’s. Representa- tives from Universal Studio Resort are said to be amazed by the beauty of the effects achieved by these machines, and declared it a strong success.

Universal-Effects also equipped Ocean Park with Power Bubble Tubes and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort with 26 ST-Power Snow 500’s to cover Main Street with snow during the main parade - throughout the winter season. It had never seen be- fore, except in Disneyland Resort Paris, where they use the same snow machines every year for the same effect. Universal-Effects has provided two Power Snow Tubes to a show in the biggest water theatre in the world - located in the City of Dreams in Macau. This show, which is produced by the Franco Dragone Production Company, is performed over and inside the water. The artistic idea was to create a wonderful and really poetic snow fall on several scenes during the show, which looks extraordinary when it is achieved the right way. The Power Snow Tubes really contribute to the success of the production. Universal-Effects has also provided six Power Bubble Tubes to the two brand new Disney cruise ships, based in Cape Canaveral, Florida. These machines will be regularly used in the main theatre for all shows performed on the boats. They have been selected for their incredibly big effect, their silence, cutting-edge technology and compact design. Universal-Effects has also equipped the Futuroscope Park in Poitiers, France with four Power Head Jet-Bubble 350’s, each one mounted on a K-Power Base 350 and an Automatic Tank Filler - for a gigantic bubble effect. This effect is a central focus of the famous 4D cinema show produced by Luc Besson. ‘The Little Prince’ is based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
