who can sell you a line array system - you can pretty much pick your price, power and size. The prize will go to those who can offer, like Martin Audio, comprehensive and comprehensible control and set-up software, the good life, hand in hand with the easy life, a persuasive argument indeed. Given that Britain was instrumental in creating the professional sound industry, and that PLASA is its national show, the muted audio presence was disappointing. I didn’t see Business Secretary Vince Cable there. I would like to at the next one, unless he’s changed his name to Vince Flex, or even Vince Bellwire by then. Thank God for RCF, parmigiano, Malintoppo and Illy espresso. Another PLASA bites the dust.
A - Z HIGHLIGHTS FROM PLASA 2011
The A &O Technology stand demonstrated the Falcon CMY LED-Video, a hybrid LED / Xenon entertainment fixture combining a high-power xenon searchlight with a sharp LED video matrix on its back and front or optionally only on its front.
The multi-faceted Alderamin Group, a new player in the global lighting industry, was launched at this year’s PLASA. Specialising in the provision of project solu- tions for the entertainment, leisure, architectural and retail lighting sectors, the group comprises four key companies: Ptarmigan Integration, Artistic Licence Integration, Artistic Licence Engineering and Ten Thousand Things. Allen & Heath chose the tradeshow to premiere a Waves SoundGrid option module for the iLive digital mixing series. Allen & Heath also announced Russian distribu- tion partner MixArt as its Distributor of the Year. Additional features for Apex‘s Intelli-X2 processors and Intelli-Ware control soft- ware, that make it quicker and easier to use, were demonstrated. Although the focus was on new features of the Intelli-X2 26 and Intelli-X2 48 realtime speaker management systems, the company’s full range of products were also on display. Over at the ArKaos stand, the company launched Kling-Net, which enables distribution of real-time video data to remote display devices, such as LEDs or LED panels, over Ethernet. ArKaos also announced its new hardware A30 media server, which is built for the MediaMaster software.
