TO ROSTER With celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the classic doll brand Sindy due to kick off this year, Bulldog Licensing has signed a deal with Pedigree to represent the property. The Sindy brand has sold over 150 million dolls worldwide to date, and autumn 2012 will see the start of the 50th birthday celebrations. MOOKIE EXTENDS THE


HIVE DEAL Mookie Toys has secured a multi- territory master toy licence with Space Enterprises for pre-school property, The Hive. The first new collection of toys from the firm will hit retail for spring/summer 2012. Mookie, which previously held the plush licence for The Hive, has upgraded its deal to include a variety of toys. The agreement covers the UK and Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. NEW TATTY TEDDY TOYS


ON WAY Carte Blanche Greetings is expanding the Tatty Teddy brand into the toy category. The firm has signed up a number of toy licences, with products due to hit shelves in autumn 2012. Items will include interactive plush, collectable figures and play-sets, outdoor play, role-play, prams and pushchairs, craft kits, games and activity books. Licensees signed up include Worlds Apart, Flair, HTI, Ravensburger, Raleigh, Alligator Books and Inspiration Works. STAR WARS LICENCE Lucas Licensing has renewed Pedigree Books’ Star Wars licence until 2014. INNOVATION FIRST is expanding its range following a new tie up with Mind Candy.


The firm will be introducing Bobble Bots Moshi Monsters in spring across the UK, US and Canada. The bobble-head mini robotic pets and customisable play- sets will utilise the recently patented Hexbug Nano vibration technology. The initial assortment of Bobble Bots will include 24 battery powered collectable Moshlings and a variety of configurable 3D ‘dollhouse’ replicas of the streets, yards, buildings and houses found online in Monstro City. Each product will also include secret codes to unlock digital assets in the online world, further enhancing the user experience.


Lego clicks with Warner Bros again


LEGO WILL be looking to continue its success with major film franchises with the addition of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings to its portfolio. TCNE aiming to build on recording breaking 2011


2012 IS looking to be a “promising” year for Turner CN Enterprises, the company’s vice president Alan Fenwick has told ToyNews. TCNE will be aiming to build on


its existing successful toy partnerships, offering EMEA toy partners bespoke opportunities for brands across the whole Turner media network. This will involve extending partnerships with retailers, publishers, toy manufacturers and content owners.
