Gen42 Games’ eighth year exhibiting at the Nuremberg Toy Fair will see the company introduce a new product to its line of board-less games. Hive Pocket will be the seventh addition to the range since the first wooden print of the game back in 2001. Since then, Hive has seen many incarnations from an iPhone App to the black and white classic edition Hive Carbon, which was introduced last year at Nuremberg Toy Fair. Hive Pocket is the same game, but much smaller.

Early Rider, a manufacturer of balance bikes, is returning to Nuremberg for a third year to showcase its growing range of pre-school bikes.

The firm has built a solid reputation for

delivering high quality, functional balance bikes and its Original range – the Lite, the Classic and the Evo – has distribution across 20 territories. All made from FSC approved,

weatherproof hardwood and featuring a patented adjustable steering system and grow-with-your-child adjustable seat height, there is a bike to suit children from 18 months to six years. At this year’s show, Early Rider will also be launching to market its new Spherovelo – a ride-on which helps young children aged one to two to make

the connection between their senses (vision, pressure, equilibrium) and their motor system.

Early Rider managing director, Andy

Loveland, commented: “Some might call it balance, but it's really more about the co-ordination of muscles in response to what we see and feel. The reason it’s so important is that this is the age when we're first making this connection as well as when we're most open to experiential learning. The Spherovelo allows even the youngest child to play and move whilst training the body to balance. It’s the perfect pre-cursor to a balance bike and then on to a pedal bike." The Spherovelo will be made in Britain

and available in several colourways from March 2012.

HALL 1, STAND C-9 The company has taken a

portable game that has no board and can be played anywhere, and shrunk it to fit into a small cloth bag.

The new edition will also include the two expansions to the game: The Mosquito, introduced in 2007 and The Ladybug, which was added to the Hive family in 2010. Gen42 Games will also be showing its other products Logan Stones, Junkyard Races and Army Of Frogs, which was also made into an iPhone/iPad App this year.

Games Play UK – a representative of inventors across the world – will turn retailer at Nuremberg Toy Fair when it launches Trivia Tower. The Weston-super-Mare firm has been

supporting some of the brightest new minds in games for 12 years, but 2012 will see a new chapter in the firm’s development. Managing director Keith Wilkinson

Keel Toys’ 2012 range of soft toys offers a balance between the latest fashion and novelty toys, such as Podlings and Monsterous, and classic ranges of teddy bears, dogs, cats, wildlife and souvenir. Every year, the firm’s UK-based designers continually develop and build

a balanced range to meet the needs of our customers in over 80 countries around the world. At the core of all products is the belief that products show be affordable while blending quality and workmanship and offering margin for its trading partners.

said: “We have been nurturing new ideas and opening up markets for inventors for several years now, and this will remain at the core of what we do, but Trivia Tower represents a significant new twist for our operation. We are bringing a new game onto the market ourselves, having spent three years with the inventor in development. We feel we are uniquely placed to understand exactly what the market wants and we will be seeking further opportunities in the future to bring great games to the market.”

Trivia Tower, which has a worldwide patent applied for, combines trivia with family friendly and hands-on gameplay. It also combines three games in one,

allowing all members of the family, from five years upward to play. Trivia Tower has a new feature as part of its development which allows the tower to move and grow to incredible heights. Games Play UK brings inventors together with key names in the toy world for licence opportunities. Among its successes is Txtpert, the

word game which appears daily in USA Today newspaper and which was developed by Namco in California as a mobile phone/iPhone game. The firm now offers a bespoke

development service which allows inventors to take their basic ideas and produce a retail-ready product, fully boxed with instructions.
