@harleysgrrl Well, this is a first. Completed my expense report on the first day back in the office. #businesstravel
@TheGTMC #BusinessTravellers expense $3 billion for fast food restaurants every year! That is equivalent to 750,000,000 burgers! #FunFact
@toddagarcia Nothing says #businesstravel quite like a 6am meeting from the West Coast while drinking hotel coffee from a paper cup.
@Melonie_Beilman A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be.
O’LEARY THREATENS TO GROUND RYANAIR AFTER BREXIT I BELIEVE MR O’LEARY’S STATEMENT threatening to ground Ryanair aircraft after Brexit can be interpreted as “cutting off your nose to spite your face”. As a Ryanair shareholder I would suggest he keeps his nose out of politics and concentrates on his job of maximising returns on investment for the airline, rather than damaging the brand with his bizarre comments. Perhaps it’s time he spent more time with his horses.
@markknoester Just made my first trip with @EurostarUK to Rotterdam. What a brilliant service! Very relaxing way to travel, faster than flying and very friendly staff. Looking forward to my next trips on this service.

PLENTY OF OTHER AIRLINES WILL BE HAPPY to fill the gap! I always thought O’Leary was an intelligent man.
He should take the advice above and keep his nose out of UK business/politics and go play with his horses!
@DeanForbes At the airport. Forgot my headphones so will buy a pair to add to the 312 pairs I already bought because I forgot to pack them 312 times already.
@ChrisPouney Me: “The hotel seems quite new, when did it open?” Receptionist: “Today; you’re our third guest.” Damn that hour-long flight delay! Great service, lovely hotel @RenHotels #warsaw #biztravel

HAVING ACHIEVED MUCH SUCCESS, like a thoroughbred race horse past its day, it’s time for Michael to go out to grass.

UK TRAINS MISS STOPS 160 TIMES A DAY THE REASON IS PROBABLY THAT the drivers are too busy counting their obscene wages in the cab. GWR pays

£47,000 pa to drive a train that is practically automatic between Penzance and Newton Abbot. No wonder there is no investment in the railways. How much would that increase to if the railways were nationalised? Gregg White

CAPITA TRAVEL AND EVENTS WINS CCS AGREEMENT CONGRATULATIONS TO CAPITA T&E and all the successful companies in this tender. Winning business from the public sector is (rightly) no mean feat and the sales teams should be congratulated on this gargantuan effort. Time for a quick celebration prior to the small task of implementing! Chris Pouney

UK MEETINGS INDUSTRY GREW IN 2017
DURING THE LAST TEN YEARS, the UK meetings industry has developed rapidly. Regard for the industry and competition among venues is growing. The industry is attracting increasing levels of attention, while an intensified number of venues other than hotels are competing within this sector. This progressive expansion of demand experienced by the industry heightens the importance of the quality provision for customers when attempting to differentiate between venues.
