and e-Lab, and Azelis’ global sustainability journey. The company will also take part in the Formulation Lab sessions, where it will share innovative ways to use natural hydrocolloids. Meanwhile, IMCD (J130-K130) will unveil
a new approach based on its partners’ ingredients, combined with its own formulation expertise to “demonstrate how advanced high-tech science and innovation are essential to support the movement for clean and sustainable beauty”. The NeoTech Beauty theme will be introduced, showcasing a formulation concept of six prototypes. IMCD is also a sponsor of the Sensory Bar and its expertise will also be highlighted there.
Among the companies at the IMCD stand,
Grant Industries will be demonstrating new 100% naturally derived and COSMOS-approved technologies, including Gransense elastomers and ECHA-compliant Granpowder BBP-700 and 700-LP. “With the Grant toolbox, attendees will experience both plant-powered technology and performance silicones for the ultimate guide to new formulating possibilities,” the company says.
Sharon Laboratories (M100) is introducing
SharoWipes, with dual protection of both the formula and the non-woven in wet wipes for baby care. The systems are composed of combinations of hydrophilic elements with anti-biofilm agents. The line demonstrates high efficacy and broad- pectrum at low level of use with a short INCI ‘free from’ non-desirable components, including ‘phenoxyethanol-free’. Clinically tested and safe to use on babies, it is microbiome-friendly and readily biodegradable, the company says.
Croda (M70) has new product information
for Crodarom Amethyst GL, which it describes as “the perfect ally for healthy, glowing skin and energised hair, thanks to its composition in silicon”. It is also relaunching Crodarom Cider Vinegar EC, a fermented health and well-being ingredient of French origin, made from apple cider with astringent, antibacterial and balancing powers for skin and hair.
At the same stand, Croda’s Sederma
subsidiary is presenting its latest product launches and the whole Matrixyl range of peptides, including some results for the original Matrixyl in comparative tests against retinol and vitamin C, and after a six-month clinical study. The company’s new active ingredient is BB-Biont, a biomimetic peptide that heals the holobiont for a blemish-banned, smooth and healthy skin. It is said to be a gentle alternative to aesthetic medicine that protects the microbiome and helps smooth the appearance of pockmarks.
absorbency and low residual tack on the skin. TEC is particularly suitable in sun care formulations due to its excellent compatibility with hard-to-dissolve organic sun filters, but has many other uses too.
Kao Corporation (S80) Among the Japanese exhibitors, Kao
Corporation (S80) is inviting visitors to try its double cleansing, double moisturising skincare routine. An oil-based cleanser using Rheodol 430V transforms into weightless, milky texture upon contact with water, lifting excess sebum and clean makeup and mascara, while an Akypo Foam RL 25-based foam cleanser clears any remaining residues and purifies the skin, without stripping hydratation. A moisture spray containing Exceparl IS-CE-A, one of the structural components of intercellular lipids, is followed by a rich, fresh W/O cream based on Kao’s emulsifier, Penetol GE-IS, which is specially designed to avoid a sticky and greasy feeling.
Nikkol Group (J130-K130) is launching Barentz (M130) Barentz’s focus on sustainability will be
visible from the wooden panels, plants, and access to information via QR codes at its stand (M130). There will be three sample kits covering maskne, ethnic haircare, perimenopause and some formulation cocktails. It will also offer insights into Natrathix Bio, Ashland’s nature-derived, biodegradable thickener with suspension capabilities that maintains emulsion stability of skin and sun care creams, lotions and gels with a soft touch skin feel for a natural alternative to carbomer.
J. Rettenmaier & Sohne (S130), a manufacturer
of highly functional plant- and ocean-based ingredients, will offer new natural additives such as: Vivastar CS 3005 XV, a newly developed natural transparent thickener and stabiliser, which enables formulators to design new gel characteristics; Vivastar CS 40 DI, a fibrous super-disintegrant for tablets that is responsible for rapid capillary transport of water into the tablet matrix and huge swelling properties in contact with water, for rapid dissolution at low use levels; and Vitacel CS 30 Oat, an upcycled ingredient derived from oat straw. This is an extremely fine white powder with a high oil-binding capacity and silky skin feel that can create unique characteristics in decorative and colour cosmetics.
PERSONAL CARE March 2022 Alban Muller (M70) Also at M70, Alban Muller is launching
GlucohyamiGL, an active ingredient based on purified chicory root extract sourced and made in France. It acts as a biomimetic activator of hyaluronic acid synthesis due to its high vegetal glucosamine content. The company will also have new information to share on two existing skincare products: Cosme-PhytamiCucumber EC and Cytokalmine EC from fruit pericarp, a hyperactive natural concentrate intended for sensitive skin. All three are 100% natural, organic, COSMOS-certified products sourced and made in France.
Mamta Polycoats (V60) of India
manufactures non-toxic, biodegradable products from 100% renewable triethyl citrate. This is a multifunctional light emollient, non- occlusive, non-oily and with low viscosity, resulting in fast spreading properties, rapid
new formula collections, focusing for the first time on natural cleansing. There are eight reference formulas composed of 100% natural and sustainable non-ionic surfactants. These feature the new Nikkol Triglyn 1-KF and Triglyn 1-L, and the established Nikkol Decaglyn series. They are all plant-grade, high natural index (ISO16128 compliant), RSPO- and/or COSMOS- certified products, with excellent rinsability and comfortable textures using PGFAEs for suitable interface structures and emulsification techniques.
Ichimaru Pharcos (D80) Ichimaru Pharcos (D80) has launched a
new cosmetic ingredient based on the rare and proverbially lucky four-leaf clover that grow in Tahara city in Japan. HappiClov increases elastin production, which is associated with skin elasticity and sagging. Applying it to the skin raises the corners of the mouth and
