TRI-K brings NaturePep Ganoderma to market
TRI-K Industries has used its NaturePep natural peptide technology to develop NaturePep Ganoderma (INCI: Hydrolyzed Ganoderma Lucidum (Mushroom) Extract). The Ganoderma (or Reishi) mushroom has a very long history of use in Chinese medicine. The company said that this new
peptide has been shown to reduce crow’s feet wrinkles and roughness, addressing the periorbital area of the face, where the first signs of ageing can appear. It also repairs dermal degradation, prevents skin oxidative and cellular damage, and decreases melanin concentration on dark spots, TRI-K claimed. “On skin, NaturePep Ganoderma shows dual action
anti-ageing to repair and protect by upregulating critical genes involved in dermal repair, stimulating the formation of proper collagen 3D structure and enhancing GAG’s synthesis,” said Dr Mihaela Gorcea,
associate director of evaluations and scientific communications. “It helps repair skin damage caused by chronological ageing, UV damage, pollution and environmental stress.”

Vegetable oils as emollients
Research at the University of Campinas (Unicamp) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, has concluded that vegetable oils can be used as a sustainable alternative to synthetic emollients and are also “promising in replacing petrolatum in skincare formulations with respect to the occlusion effect of the skin”. In the study, different

product Scott Bader has launched a new biobased conditioning agent and rheology modifier. Texique PQ37 is a preservative-free cationic acrylic homopolymer dispersed in naturally derived hemisqualane. This can be used as a conditioning agent and rheology modifier for hair conditioners, skin and sun creams and lotions, as well as aqueous systems. It is also cold- processable and does not require neutralisation, the firm said.
Geltor works
with Nagase Nagase Specialty Materials is to distribute Geltor’s bioactive proteins for personal care in the US. This includes: HumaColl21, the first ever biodesigned vegan human collagen for skincare; Elastapure, the only bioidentical human elastin ingredient on the market for skincare, made sustainably using zero human or animal inputs; and Collume, which is said to be the first 100% animal- free collagen technology.
Investment in
Biosynthetic Biosynthetic Technologies has raised $7.5 million in a Series A-1 funding led by HG Ventures, the corporate venture arm of the Heritage Group. It will use this to fund the ongoing acquisition of Innoleo, a distributor of oleo derivatives, and to scale up operations for its new class of biobased synthetic compounds called Estolides, which are made from the organic fatty acids found in various bio-derived oils.
Robertet names
Bruhat deputy French fragrances producer Robertet Group has named Jérôme Bruhat as deputy CEO with the intention of him becoming CEO at the general assembly in June when the roles of chairman and CEO are split and Philippe Maubert will assume the role of non-executive chairman. Bruhat had spent over 30 years with L’Oréal and has been president of the Japanese arm since 2015.
