Where Handshakes Supersede Paperwork From Romania and Greece to Poland and Serbia, Eastern Europe is one of Digitain’s strongest


regions. Whilst each market is unique, there is one thing they all have in common; a handshake grounded in trust means more than contractual obligations, explains Hmayak Arakelyan, Head of Sales Team, Eastern Europe.


What does localisation mean for Eastern Europe?


For me, localisation is the key to entering any market. Tat’s true not only for Eastern Europe but everywhere. If you don’t adapt, even the best product will struggle to connect with players or operators. In Eastern Europe, localisation plays an even bigger role. In many countries here, retail betting is still part of daily life, compared to other parts of Europe where online is the most dominant method of gaming.


People don’t just walk into a shop, place a bet, and leave. Tey go there to spend time, to talk, to socialise—even if they don’t place a bet at all. And if you don’t understand this culture, you can’t create the right solutions.

What's the business culture in Eastern Europe? What's the latest with Digitain's product portfolio?


In Eastern Europe, people are hardworking and very detail-focused. But business here doesn’t start with contracts or papers—it starts with trust. Very often, someone’s word and a handshake mean more than what’s written down on paper. What I really enjoy is how direct people are. If they like something, they tell you right away. If they don’t, they also say it straight. It saves time for both sides and keeps things honest.


No need for long talks without a purpose. And the most interesting part is that literally everyone in Eastern Europe expects the same from the other side. And one more thing - once a decision is made, it’s final. People stand by it. Tat level of commitment makes doing business here not only effective but also enjoyable. Yes is yes, and no is a no!

Right now, we’re busy with a few projects that I can’t share in detail just yet. Hopefully, in the coming months, we’ll be able to talk more about them. One area we continue to put a lot of focus on is responsible gambling and player protection. Tese have always been important to us, so we’re working on stronger self-exclusion tools and features that give players more control over their activity.


We’re also licensing our products for many regulated markets across Europe, which means adapting to strict requirements and making sure everything meets the highest standards. At the same time, we’re constantly improving what we already have. Our Sportsbook, Bet Builder,


What has been the reception to the Autobet feature since its launch?


Te feedback has been really positive. Players appreciate how simple it is to use and how transparent it is.
