MASTERCHEF COMPETITION

“Doing the MasterChef competition was a great experience. On the day I felt nervous however excited, as it was the first time I had cooked a three course meal that was being judged. I decided to do a menu that I felt comfortable with however looked challenging and professional. For the starter, I did a sweet chilli and garlic prawn salad. The main course was low fat chicken and leek potato bake with seasonal side vegetables and for the desert, I made a pink white chocolate mousse with a raspberry coulis. I would encourage any GCSE students that get the opportunity to do the competition to have a go at it, as it is a very fun and rewarding experience that I will always remember.”

Phoebe Strout

Phoebe won the local heats for the Rotary Young Chef competition in November with her spectacular menu and skills and went onto the district finals at St Alfred’s College in Burnham on Sea on Saturday 3rd February. Although she didn’t win here she produced some stunning food and coped extremely well under pressure.

We were very proud of her!
