Science (continued)

YEAR 11 AND 13 Of course, with very limited time to go before the exams now, we have to mention our fantastic year 11 and 13 students who are putting in the extra time and effort to securer their grades when it comes to the final examinations. We have had some fantastic turnouts to our period 6 sessions, which are tailored to specific subjects that we think the students are struggling with. We can already see the impact that this has made on their most recent exam results, but there is still a long way to go. Keep it up year 11 and 13 – science is hard, but that’s what makes it so fun!

PRIMARY VISIT DAYS This term in Science we have had the opportunity to host some primary school visitors from our local primaries. 30 students from year 4 – 6 came along to have a go at designing and taking part in an investigation to find out the reactivity of different household chemicals. The bubbles where flying when they added bicarbonate of soda substances like cola and vinegar (with a little washing up liquid) to see which one made the most bubbles. Try it out at home and see what you find! Everyone can be a scientist!
