DANCE DANCE IN ACTION
A huge well done to all the students involved in the show. We are so grateful for all of your hard work and determination, you really are super talented and can’t wait for many more successful Dance in Action’s to come.
This year the Dance department hosted our biggest showcase of dance talent yet! This show was an amalgamation of KS3 classwork, dance company performances, GCSE and A Level choreography and performance. The show was spectacular with constant professionalism from students throughout and some of the most beautiful performances the school has seen. A highlight was the work of our KS5 Dancers whom dazzled the audience in solo performances and group performances, demonstrating the hard work and determination of the school’s best students. As well as this, the evening saw Year 11 and Year 10 join together for one huge performance piece based on their solo set phrase. A massive achievement when only rehearsed properly altogether the evening before!
‘GYM STARS’ FILMING On the 27th and 28th of February the department welcomed a television crew from CBBC to into the department to film our technical rehearsal and performance of Dance in Action. This was due to our A Level Dance student Cameron Sinden, who is taking part in a television programme associated with his gymnastics outside of school. Students in show were interviewed and filmed to be part of the show. All students involved were an absolute credit to the school, behaving beautifully throughout and demonstrating the huge dance talent that exists at our school. It was a privilege to be involved and we can’t wait to watch when the show is aired. Watch this space!
Alongside all of this students also had to contend with CCBC TV crew filming their rehearsal and final performance. We were honoured to be joined by the television crew, who were filming our A level Dancer Cameron Sinden for a television programme he is involved in. It was a pleasure to be involved and our students made the department very proud with their focus and enthusiasm.
