taken part. There was a noticeable absence of Simon Jones with his camera at the award ceremony. Get well Simon, we all hope to see you back at the club in the not too distant future. David Holmes, Hampshire Skeet team Manager 2010.

Hampshire does it again winning the Sporting intercounties

Oh it’s so good when a plan comes together and that’s exactly what happened for team manager Ben Gordge, convincing the cream of Hampshire’s Sporting members that they can do it again. The 2009 win proved, with the right selection
process, we can produce an exceptional team to represent Hampshire. This proves it wasn’t a fluke and the plan works – Ben pulled together yet again, a great set of teams to send to Podimore to once again take on the Counties. The winning Hampshire seniors, John Heagren
Berreta World Championships at Meon Springs
Yes it was here again – the Berreta World Sporting Championship at Meon Springs set right in the heart of the Hampshire countryside yet another year has passed. This hugely popular Sporting event with near a thousand entries coming from afar. Luckily, for many of us, it’s just up the road. The 120 target 15 stand course knocked the sense out of many of those entries who thought they could shoot, so many angles and speeds, loopers, crossers, rabbits – the lot. Pete Cornnie and his team put on some real thinkers and then some well deserved close recovery targets, an excellent variety for this biggest registered Sporting shoot. Richard Faulds shot a 114 which put him into a shoot-off and, as you would expect from Hampshire’s finest, he won receiving a very expensive Breitling watch for his efforts. If you missed the Beretta World you could have gone back on the Monday and shot the open Sporting using any make of gun you wish.
Get well soon, Doug and Simon
Doug Summerbee Fareham’s President who at the ripe old age of 82 years recently retained the Fareham’s Club Champion Skeet title returning yet another 98 ex 100 has had a heart attack and will not be fit enough to try and retain the Hampshire Skeet Championship title on 25 July. Doug is a toughen though and is getting better as you read, we all wish you a speedy recovery Doug and look forward to seeing you on the Skeet layouts soon.

As no shoot reports have been submitted to me this month and I have been out of the UK for three out of the four weeks, we have no shoot reports for this month’s edition of PULL! As a County, this is our opportunity to communicate with all our members what is taking place in Somerset. I am unable to get to every single registered competition within the county so I

really need the help of you guys and girls to feed me information and results! However, with the upcoming intercounty
competitions, I’m sure that there are a few people out there who would like to jot a few lines down of the events and send them to me, which I will then happily submit for publication! Additionally if anyone takes any photos of the teams competing in the intercounties send them to me as well and we will endeavour to get them into PULL!

18 July Sport Trap at Southern counties.
Quite a few members went to Southern Counties for the Hampshire Sport Trap Championship and for Neil lockton it was worth the drive down there. Dropping two on his first outing did not matter, but the tide turned at the 50 stage with Ron King gaining a target, Brian Jewel only one target behind too at this stage. As the stages passed Neil, Ron and Brian were neck and neck all on 65 the last 25 targets would see a shoot- off or a new Hants Champ, Brian dropped five ouch!! Ron dropped three and Neil only two, much to the delight of Neil who takes the Sport Trap title for 2010.
The successful sporting team at Podimore including little Charlie Faulds left ,who we hope one day will be as good as Dad Richard
