Memorial shoot
The annual Wrockwardine fete was held on Saturday 3 July; not so many shooters were present this year, but the event went well even though the targets were a bit extreme. Roy Gudrat was leading the field until Graham Evans bettered his score by a point. They both shot another round and at the close of play, Graham came out the victor, winning the new Charlie Carver Memorial Cup which was presented by Charlie’s family.
Welsh ABT
Griffin Llolyd held a Welsh ABT selection shoot on Sunday 11 July. All the regular Welsh top shots were there to try and gain a place in the team for the home international event being held at Dungannon in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland in September. Welsh supremos Phil Dando and Phil Morgan were scoring well and finished on 91 x 100, Graham Evans who was Welsh HG at last year’s home international put in a 93 and took the high gun position, thus putting him in a stronger position to make the Welsh team once again.

Dave Winter
Congratulations to DTL new cap Dave Winter. In his first year shooting DTL Dave made the
Staffordshire DTL team and achieved Staffordshire High Gun. In his second year he won a place in the England DTL Team. Let’s all hope that in his third year this excellent all round shooter can win a place in one of the Great Britain team disciplines. Congratulations also go to Warwickshire’s Paul Hodges and Denise Humphries. After a very long and frustrating campaign and usually missing out by the odd point or two, Paul finally managed to win an England DTL place.
Not only winning his England place but shooting his first 100/300, winning the Grandfathers trophy, having a shoot-off for the English DTL Championship and also gaining a European DTL team place.
Denise has once again shot her way to an England team place and also being made team captain, plus a European DTL team place.
48 | PULL! September 2010
Much Wenlock on Sunday 11 July and there were plenty of shooters who had turned up to try and win a medal and some cartridges. This event is always well supported even though
the targets laid on are quite hard to score a straight on. This was the case on the day but there were a few straights put in. Gerald Jones won the gold medal after a shoot-off, Graham Evans won the silver medal and up and coming county junior shooter Jess Moore won the silver medal in the ladies class.
Gerald Jones. News
Year bars for 2010 are now available and will be allocated as and when you make the team for an i/c event. Only one year bar will be issued, not one for each discipline as some of you seem to think. The cost of these bars has been offset by having county shooters paying a £1 levy paid at county – area and i/c events.
The county committee are still working hard behind the scenes and have organised a fund raising day at Bridgnorth GC in early October – please go along and give us some support, also please tell your shooting friends about the event. Intercounty events are starting to take place and
will be reported on as and when we have any results from them, I am still awaiting a barrage of information from you all to tell me who is doing well this year. Please let me have any info as I can only report on what I know or am told about.

A word to the Shropshire DTL team & committee.
Holding onto the DTL Intercounty Shield and medals till Hell freezes over will not change the result.

I will do my utmost to make sure that no one forgets the correct results.
At Ranton CTC on 1 August the Staffordshire DTL Championship was fought for by around 45 keen shooters. As the top shooters faded there was a brace of 100/298s entered.
Roy Crannage was the first to post the score closely followed by Craig Nightingale. After a tense 25 bird shoot-off, Roy had let a stray
