CLA Game Fair
CPSA coaching team, CLA Game Fair 2010
and Broomfi eld fi nished on 31 and 32 respectively. Pietro Mastroeni shot the highest qualifying score of the event in the next squad, his 39 giving him a three target margin to squad mates Martin Doughty and Kevin Jobling, while C Baker and Martin Elworthy shot 34 and 35. Richard Faulds fi nished top of the pile in the next squad with 37 ahead of Ollie Baker (35) J Garside (34), Mick Nicholson and B Davies both on 33 and Richard King on 32.
The top ten scorers went through to the quarters and it was Mastroeni, Faulds, Ollie Baker, Lovatt and Doughty that made the cut into the semi fi nal. Both Martin and Ollie shot an impressive 37 which saw them line up for a head to head 12 bird shoot-off to decide the win. Doughty missed his fi rst bird out but Ollie was having his own problems, a broken ejector meaning that each reload was proving to be a long winded affair, not the ideal situation to be in when fi ghting for a title. He then missed two birds on the trot as well as his fi nal target, but Martin missed his 8th, 11th and 12th, meaning that Ollie was crowned this year’s Champion of Champions, taking the trophy and the trip of a lifetime as guest of Land Rover as his reward. Final positions: Third Richard Faulds, second Martin Doughty, First Ollie Baker.
The CPSA would like to thank Land Rover for their sponsorship of the event and for the superb range of prizes they provided to the winners, John Bidwell and his team from High Lodge and the CLA.
