Congratulations to Tom Prescott who was part of the GB super vets team that came third in the Universal Trench European Championships in Lazenay France on 24 to 27 June.

The Sporting County Championship took place at Doveridge on 18 July. In almost perfect conditions except for the occasional shower, four shooters returned to the clubhouse on 87/100, Bob Beastall, Phil Godber, Dave Dumelow and S Gregory. With Dave and Mr Gregory having already left the ground, Bob Beastall and Phil Godber went out for the shoot-off with Phil returning as Champion. Veterans Champion was Neil Coxhead on 84/100, with J Marples also on 84/100, but was unavailable for a shoot-off. In the juniors Dan Ford retained the title on 83/100, with Tom Miller and Tristan Yeomans both on 75/100. Ladies Champion was Jackie Fox on 72/100.

The Skeet Doubles County Championship was held at Oxton SS on 18 July. In strong blustery conditions Rens Del-rosso


became County Champion on 95/100, closely followed by Paul Hallam on 94/100. Jenny Del-rosso on 84/100 was ladies Champion with Nicola Wilcox as runner up. Junior Champion was Mathew Pegg on 84/100 and veterans Champion was Gary Webster. Well done to all winners.

The Skeet County Championship took place at Doveridge on 25 July. In warm breezy conditions, making the targets a little unpredictable, Paul Hallam added another county title to his list for 2010. He shot 98/100, with last year’s Champion Alan Barnes and Bob Hope on 96/100. In the ladies Nicola Wilcox retained the title on 92/100. In the juniors Henry Jones won his first county title with an excellent score of 97/100 with Mathew Pegg runner up on 93/100, and Tom Miller on 91/100. Retaining the veterans title was Billy

A message for all H&W sporting shooters: If you are interested in shooting for your county and you feel your English Sporting scores are good enough for the Intercounties sporting championships at Doveridge Clay Sports on Sunday 26 September, please get in touch with Stephen Nutbeam on 07971 447138 and you will be considered for a place in the team. There will be places for seniors, juniors, veterans and ladies.

Mid Wales Shooting Centre was again the venue for H&W County DTL Championship. Fine weather helped for an excellent turnout of 24 H&W members which raised £43 for county funds. Thank you to everyone for contributing. Rob Haines was the eventual winner posting a 100/295 to take seniors and veterans title. With his recent form he will hopefully be our next county England DTL member, he has certainly got the talent. His score was very closely followed by runner up Jason Price with 99/294. Jason has recently upgraded to a Krieghoff trap gun and won last week’s sponsored DTL at Central Scotland with another 99/294 in very poor conditions. Jason Young was third with a
