Scorchio at the NCSC and seven Sussex shooters turned out for the UT County Championship on 7 July. Our thanks go to Barry & his staff at the NCSC for holding a great shoot. Dave Simmons and Quint McKellar set the pace by opening with 24’s, but it was Dave Simmons who kept up the pressure to the very end, taking the Sussex title with a blistering 98. Silvano De Laurenzy won the veterans title with 80/100 and Aaron Smith won the Colts with 84/100. Unfortunately there were no ladies or juniors at the shoot, where are you? We, as a county, are struggling to put together teams for the various disciplines, please can you let the team captains know if you would like to represent your county. We are especially short of ladies, colts and juniors and we have the Nationals coming up in October, details of dates below. The full list of contact details is on the website or email me direct and I will pass on your details to the appropriate person.

The weather was great, little wind and some sunshine, but this did not encourage the Sussex shooters to appear. Of the two booked in to shoot, only one turned up!!
Guy Franklin still put on a good show and finished on 96/100 to take the Sussex County Championship. He was also one of three to finish on this score and in good spirit, took part in a shoot-off, and succeeded in winning this also! Very well shot and a pleasure to watch and we wish Guy well with his future shoots representing Great Britain.

Belated thanks
Paul and Hazel Bennett of Podimore SG would like to express their thanks to West Country Demolition, Promatic and Q Line Targets for sponsoring the FITASC GB selection shoot which was held at their ground on the 19/20 June. In the present economic climate both the grounds and shooters are very
same time. Colin went in and dropped three targets, Martin followed and dropped two targets, But Phil Williams held his nerve and only dropped one target and won the county championship on 93. Mathew Elworthy shot a very good 86 to win the juniors.
The lady winner was Jacky Eley an excellent 81. Colin Jago won the vets with a 92 and could have very well won the outright Championship.
10 July Single barrel County Championship
Simon Ede County Champion with a score 95, Anthea Barker wining the ladies on 65, Gregg
Another year goes by very quickly and yes, it is time again to bring along those friends who have not yet picked up a gun. The have a go stands, have become very popular and each year, we get quite a few new members from this event. Please spread the word and if you think you can put up a leaflet somewhere, please get in touch with any committee member.
