Regions England team honours
Congratulations to Emma Wheeldon, & Ken Rimington who will represent England in the 2010 DTL home internationals in Scotland & the European DTL Championships at Southern Counties and to Curtis Woolley for winning a place in the 2010 England DTL Junior Team, and also to Becky Bream for making the 2010 England Ladies Sporting Team.
English Open DTL
Emma Wheeldon easily won the ladies English open DTL championship with a super 100-298 Peter Armett’s disappointment in not making the
England DTL team this year was short lived as he shot fantastically well with a 100-299 to take A Class honours in the English Open DTL. Pete would like to thank Cockett Farm shooting ground, Express cartridges and Lee Solicitors for their continued and valued support.
World Sporting/World Sportrap
At the recent World Sporting championships Becky Bream shot superbly to take individual silver in ladies in both the Sporting and Sportrap events. A fantastic achievement. Well done Becky.
Congratulations
Congratulations go to Joe Booth for winning regional gold for the second time. Joe retained his junior title from last year at the East Midlands Skeet Doubles held at Oxton GC.
County UT
Peter Armett English A CLass Winner & Emma Wheeldon English Ladies Champion 2010
This year our County UT was shot for at Orston. Once again a poor turnout for this competition. This however does not take anything away from John Bates’ brilliant performance to take the championship on 47ex50.

We are now well into our Championship season and by the time you read this report we will have had most of the intercounty championships. In the next issue I hope to report on our successes.
Skeet Doubles
The Suffolk Skeet Doubles were held at Drinkstone Gun Club on 17 July. The shoot was won with a 97 by Mike Bradley. Mike was two targets clear of Robbie Manning and Daren Parsons both on 95. Eric Chapman AA with a 93 and Daren Parsons won A. Barry Locke won B with a 93. By Daren Parsons.

title! I believe Puff has been third on many occasions, so this time he is feeling very chuffed and so he should be! His score, believe it or not, was 93ex 100 with his 12 gauge and he went even better, with his 20 gauge scoring 95ex100. So well done Puff!
World Sporting Championships
Lakenheath held the World Sporting Championship, and what a championship it was! The weekend weather was absolutely scorching. The competition was held over two days with
100 targets each day. Lakenheath made full use of their facilities, using two courses – the blue course was shot in the wooded area and the red course was shot in and around the quarry area. There was every type of target you could wish for! You name a target and that target was there. I think the quality of targets was down to just one man and that man was John Dyson. So on behalf of the county I would like to thank John for all his efforts! The shoot itself ran like clockwork with no real
European side by side
As most of you are aware Puff Baker is one of the best users of a side by side in the Country, he has already won the English title this year and last month he added to his trophy cabinet by winning the European

problems, the referees were very good and the traps were kept fi lled up by the Lakenheath ground staff. The food was plentiful and tasty, all thanks to the hard working kitchen staff and we must not forget Peter Usher for keeping all his staff on their toes, so well done Peter and thanks for making this shoot one to remember. Congratulations to everyone from Suffolk that made it to the top of their classes and especially to Paul Simpson who fi nished runner only one clay away, if only that long midi/crosser simo pair was not a no bird?
Champion of Champions This was held at the CLA at Ragley Hall
and ladies championships were won by Curtis Woolley, Ken Rimington and Katy Howson, all of which retained their titles from the previous year.

Becky Bream
The Nottinghamshire Sporting Championship attracted a total of 100 shooters with 41 participating from the Notts area. Orston SG ran the shoot very well with a good selection of targets including a new raised stand. Now to the winners, Martin Doughty secured his second county title of 2010 with a score of 93, whilst Becky Bream took ladies on 86. Jamie Fletcher and Alan Winter claimed the junior and veteran prizes respectively. Last but never least our very own chairman took C class honours. Well done to all winners.
Have a go day The Nottinghamshire committee will be holding a have a go day at Nottingham & District GC on Friday 10 September. Please feel free to bring along friends and family to try their hand at clay shooting.
Apologies
As you will know our last two reports for the PULL! Magazine have been missing. The reports were sent to PULL! in good time but were not printed. Our Chairman Paul Brown contacted the editor who was very apologetic for omitting the reports and has agreed to publish all of them in this issue.
From the Ed
Always more than happy to admit when a mistake has been made – seems that the reports went astray before they reached me – technology, it seems, can let us down.

Warwickshire and Suffolk’s representative was Puff Baker, I attended the shoot with Puff and I can report that he shot very well getting through the qualifying stages and was only three clays away in the semis to make the fi nal. Next year, Puff third time lucky? Don’t forget the Suffolk Super Sporting which is being held at High Lodge. The date is 19 September, please ring High Lodge to book your place, this is the last County Championship of the year, so don’t miss out!
On a personal note
Some of you may know that I have been selected to become the new England Sporting manager, and I would just like to thank all the people (you know who you are?) who have helped me to this exciting challenge. I would like to give my special thanks to Colin Butler
whose advice and knowledge has been fi rst class. Those few who do not know Colin, he is the General Secretary on the East Midlands Committee and if you need anything doing outside of Suffolk, he is your man.
