travel and tourism at The College of Richard Collyer, Horsham, West Sussex
My parents worked for the Home Office and when I was a child I lived in Delhi and Brussels. This gave me the travel bug and I always wanted to work abroad. I felt this course would help me towards my goal. It also helped me develop as a person. It’s definitely a social industry, and the course gave me social skills I never had before. I was a shy kid before I started my studies but it helped me to come out of my shell. It opened doors for me. I’ve just finished working in the Maldives as a destination rep for Kuoni, and I’m now planning on moving to New Zealand and hope to work as a food and beverage manager. I love this sector because it offers so much more than a 9-to-5 job.”
