A New Acting CEO for Prasar Bharati-India
Chandra Panda as Acting Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Jawhar Sircar who resigned in November 2016. Prasar Bharati runs Doordarshan and All India Radio.

Mr Suresh Chandra Panda has joined as Member (Personnel), Prasar Bharati (India’s Public Service Broadcaster) on 27 March 2015. He is an IAS officer of the 1981 batch of Assam Meghalaya Cadre and retired as Special Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Home Affairs on 28 February 2015.
Mr Panda has a Post Graduate degree in Political Science from Utkal University, Odisha, M. Phil in Public Administration from Punjab University and MBA (Public Services) from University of Birmingham, U.K.
During his long and outstanding stint in public service, Mr Panda handled many important Ministries/Departments and offices in Government of India as well as State Governments of Assam and Odisha. Before joining IAS, he was an IPS officer of the 1978 batch of Uttar Pradesh Cadre, where for his exemplary services he was decorated with the President’s Medal.

he Chinese government has appointed Mr Nie Chenxi as Minister of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Fil and Television (SAPPRFT)
following the retirement of Mr Cai Fuchao. Mr Nie has been a Vice Minister SAPPRFT since October 2012, and concurrently President of China Central Television (CCTV) since April 2015.
Mr Nie is a computer programming major and had worked for the Hebei Provincial Bureau of Statistics and served in other administrative positions in Hebei. He was also the Director of the Publicity Department of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China in 2006.

A New Head at AsiaSat A
ndrew Jordan was appointed as Executive Director, President and CEO of Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited (AsiaSat) on
1 November 2016. He has over 25 years of experience in the satellite industry.
Mr Jordan was the General Manager in the Marketing Department of AsiaSat from 1991 to 1993. Prior to re-joining AsiaSat, he held executive positions with several satellite operators. He has also led complex deal negotiations in China, Hong Kong SAR, Australia, Italy and the United Kingdom.
He holds a Bachelor Degree in Chinese from School of Oriental and African Studies, the University of London.
