Two ABU Staff recognised in 2016

- Senior Project Manager, ABU Sports this year share the trophy for the Staff of the Year.


The ABU Secretary-General expressed his thanks to all the ABU staff for their dedication and commitment at work during the past year. Dr Javad Mottaghi said that it is not easy task to designate the staff of the year even the choice is made after consultation with the Directors.


He added that 2016 has been a very busy year and the ABU team has spared no efforts in providing the best services to its members.


Two Sri Lankan Journalists Impressed by AVN Operations

nder the ABU Attachment Programme, Ms Gayathri Yogendran and Ms Nimali Makumburage, both


journalists at the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) visited the Asiavision (AVN) centre in Kuala Lumpur from 16-18 November 2016.


All the operations of the Asiavision were explained to them by the officers there led by Tan Hock Guan, AVN Senior Editor. Our two guests observed the way news material is uploaded and downloaded. They said they had never experienced such an exercise before. It was also an opportunity for the two journalists to understand the concept of newsworthiness for the Asia-Pacific region.


Gayathri and Nimali also visited other departments of the ABU. They now have an idea of how News, Programme, Technical and Sports Departments operate with the common objective of offering the best services to the 275 ABU members in 69 countries. The attachment programme also included some working sessions at RTM- Malaysia.
