016 has been a productive year for the ABU Programme Department. Its 30 activities included new events such as the ABU Music Exchange, the Radio Drama


Workshop, the Storytelling Workshop and preliminary discussions for the forthcoming ABU International Dance Festival, the ABU Asia-Pacific Song Contest, the ABU Storytelling Festival, and Generation What?


In his opening remarks, Mr Mistam, Head of the Supervisory Board of RRI-Indonesia said that the ABU General Assembly and its Associated Meetings give an opportunity to all members and delegates to focus on strategic discussions. He added that the Bali gathering aims at strengthening

• Mr Young Jun Lorenzo Lee of KBS-Korea elected Chairperson of the ABU Programme Committee


ABU’s principles of diversity, uniformity and inclusion in the broadcasting sector throughout the Asia-Pacific region.


Dr Javad Mottaghi, the ABU Secretary-General pointed out that the main task of the Union is to promote unity in diversity. He said that “we are here to focus on commonalities and see any differences as opportunities and not threats.”
