emand for high quality content is constantly increasing not only in traditional media but also on


the various delivery platforms brought by the Internet and digitalisation. The Professional Discussion session this year focused on cost effective and innovative strategies to meet these new challenges broadcasters are facing today. The session was moderated by Mr Russell Isaac, Media Consultant, UK.

The panellists included Dr Dan Santa, Head of International Relations at Radio Romania, Ms Niken Widiastuti, Director General Information and Public Communication in the Indonesian government, Ms Oyundari Tsagaan, General Director, MNB-Mongolia and Ms Jinsook Lee, President and CEO of Daejeon MBC, Korea.


Dr Dan Santa said that public radio needs to have a refreshed strategy due to fierce competition from Internet radio and social media. He cited innovative activities by radio Romania such as the RadioRo Festival and the Grand Prix Nova which are highly appreciated by listeners not only in Europe but as well as in some Asian countries.


Social Media was in all the discussions. Ms Tsagaan explained how MNB- Mongolia created Facebook groups and after some research, her production
