ABU-AIBD Regional Workshop Explores Impact of New Media on Broadcasting
collaboration with the AIBD was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21-23 November 2016. The workshop focused on exploring new media trends and tools to create and promote content and increase audiences as well as developing digital content and multimedia stories using a variety of new approaches.

The workshop attracted more than 25 participants from ABU Member organisations representing 8 countries.
The aim of the 3-day interactive workshop was to help participants understand the impact of new media on traditional media practices, particularly in content creation and audience engagement, and how broadcast media organisations are adapting to digital ways of doing things. Participants also learned how to apply key new media and social media tools, trends and approaches in their daily working life.
Major topics covered in the workshop ranged from social media and digital content to audience engagement and mobile technology. The workshop was conducted by Mr Steve Ahern, Managing Director of Ahern Media and Training.
