Mr Ko Dae-young delivered his speech just after his election

Mr Ko Dae-young added that throughout the sessions and conversations at this General Assembly, we’ve come to understand the grave challenges facing us. We have to adapt to the changes in the new media world where faster and better platforms change not only content production but also its promotion and distribution.

He also stressed on his responsibilities both at the KBS and now at the ABU: “With our traditional media structure, we can’t serve our fragmented audiences who are getting more diverse, digital and mobile. We have to introduce new workflows and learn new skills and develop new formats and content for the new platforms. In May I conducted a sweeping re-structural change at KBS in order to adjust to the new media environment.“

The new ABU President concluded that “For more than half a century, the ABU has prospered with innumerable success stories. Our union will continue to be strong and influential only when each and every member stays successful. We will firmly stand together and together we will succeed.”
