BTEC Level 1 Diploma, Introduction to the Travel
and Tourism Industry This course provides specialised studies directly relevant to the hospitality, travel and tourism and related sectors in which you are working or intend to seek employment. You will develop a range of employability skills and techniques, understanding personal qualities and attitudes essential for success in working life. The qualification provides a foundation of study from which you can move onto a level 2 qualification such as the Diploma in Travel and Tourism (level 2).
Entry requirements: No formal qualification is required. Entrance is subject to a College entry assessment. A satisfactory reference is required.
Possible next steps: Diploma in Travel and Tourism (level 2) or employment.
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in
Travel and Tourism This course provides a background and range of skills and knowledge required for employment in the travel and tourism industries. Units of study include: the UK travel and tourism industry, exploring customer service in travel and tourism, UK travel and tourism destinations, European holiday destinations, exploring marketing in travel and tourism, developing employability skills for travel and tourism and planning visits for travel and tourism.
Entry requirements: BTEC Diploma level 1 (merit), or 4 GCSEs grades D-G (including English), plus a satisfactory reference.
Possible next steps: BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Travel and Tourism (level 3) (minimum of merit / distinction grade required) or employment in Travel and Tourism.
