Learning Resources Centre This offers you a range of study spaces for silent, paired or small group work. There are computers for you to use for coursework and plenty of paper and online resources that are carefully selected to meet your coursework needs. The staff in the centre will help you find what you need. It also has open access IT space – which is ideal if you don’t have a computer to use at home.


Internet station If you like to use the internet to relax, this is the place for you. These computers can be used for activities such as browsing, games or shopping.


Study skills drop-in centre We have a drop-in centre to help you achieve in your studies, and we work with your tutors to embed support into your lessons. The support sessions focus on:


• Literacy and numeracy • Key skills portfolios • ESOL • Basic computer confidence • One-to-one dyslexia support and access to assistive technology (by appointment only)


Student Advisers / Counsellors are trained counsellors who will help you with any problem or difficulty you have. All students can receive free, confidential and impartial advice on things like: finance, housing, health, immigration, benefit claims, legal problems, sexual health, drugs, staying safe, personal / emotional concerns and other issues.


Careers and employment advisers give you free, confidential and impartial advice and support on education, training and employment opportunities. The service is particularly designed for young people – including young offenders and mental health service users. If you need to speak to this team, you’ll get motivational support and help with setting and achieving goals.

Preparing you for university. We will help you with your UCAS applications and other HE admissions processes, including if you need to go through Clearing.


We can also advise you on courses, career opportunities, CVs, support in making applications for jobs, training and much more!
