Art, Design and Creative Studies (BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Creative Media

and Production) This course introduces you to the media industry. You’ll get a good introduction to the basic skills and techniques of TV and film production. You will explore the creative potential of single camera lens focusing on the three stages of production: pre-production, shooting, and post-production. Once you have developed skills and shot your video, you will then use the post-production studios to edit together your shots. You will learn how to use iMovie to produce the music video. Your completed work will then be pressed onto DVD to show family, friends, employers to illustrate your ability to create a contemporary music video.


Preparation for Childcare


(Edexcel level 1) On Track This course gives you an introduction to parenting and how to care for a young child in the home. It prepares you to take the first step towards working as a child care professional.


Computing On Track This course gives you the opportunity to develop your IT skills, for example, in the use of website and imaging software, the design and development of spreadsheet applications and in increasing productivity using IT. You will gain a Level 2 qualification with the opportunity to progress to BTEC Level 3 courses in IT.


Entry requirements: College interview and assessment.


Possible next steps: Once you have completed the course successfully, you will be in a great position to continue your education by enrolling on a full-time programme of your choice or be ready for employment.
