Hackney Community College’s Legacy Champions had a fantastic time helping the local community. They rejuvenated a local community centre’s garden – and helped to clear up the River Thames!

The Olympic and Paralympic Games: London 2012

At Hackney Community College, our students are at the heart of the action. There are loads of opportunities the 2012 Games have brought to us:

• Volunteered or paid work in sport and performance, event management, electrical engineering, security, retail, hospitality or catering - and more.

• Hackney is host to the International Press and Media centre during the Games – providing great opportunities for our media students.

• Catering students volunteered in Canada at the Vancouver Winter Games.

• Students take part in host-borough festivals of sport.

• Our students joined 90 other students from across the Host boroughs to become Legacy Champions – making a difference to the future of London.
