CACHE Level 1 Diploma in


Caring for Children (QCF) This qualification is designed to give you the basic knowledge and skills you need in caring for young children.


In


addition to the qualification, it offers the opportunity to undertake the Personal and Social Development (PSD) units and gain vocational experience in a work environment.


Entry requirements: No formal qualifications are required, but you will need to have a college assessment.


Possible next step: Level 2 Childcare qualifications.


CACHE Level 2 Diploma for Children and Young People’s


Workforce (QCF) This course provides you with the skills and knowledge you need to work with children from birth – 19 years. As part of the course, you will be required to gain vocational experience where your competence will be assessed by a qualified assessor.

Entry requirements: No formal qualifications are required, but you will need to have a college assessment.


Possible next step: Progress to the Level 3 Diploma or gain employment within a care setting.


CACHE Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People’s


Workforce (QCF) This course is delivered over a period of 2 years and is designed to help you build skills and the knowledge needed for working with children and young people from birth – 19 years. It covers a wide range of job roles and occupational areas. You will need to demonstrate competence in a ‘real’ work environment where you will be assessed by a qualified assessor.


Entry requirements: You must have 5 GCSEs grade D or above or a Level 2 Diploma in Caring for Children - and Functional Skills (Maths and English) at Level 1. You will need to have a college assessment.


Possible next step: University or Foundation Degree, or employment as a practitioner in care setting.
