Sittu Azeez, joined HCC as an On Track student, studying Business. He really enjoyed his time here and after completing the course, enrolled on the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business. He not only succeeded on this course, but he also achieved 12 distinctions! He’s now started a BA(Hons) degree at university.

College course? If you missed our main enrolment, these exciting courses are ideal. They are designed for people aged 16-18 who are looking to return to education. They are shorter courses than traditional ones and they run throughout the year. They are designed to give you an introduction to a range of vocational subjects, while brushing up on your maths and English. You’ll also enhance your personal and social development and enterprise skills. Once you’ve completed the On Track course, you’ll be in a great position to continue your education by enrolling on a full-time programme of your choice – or be ready for employment.

BTEC Skills for Working Life (Literacy, Numeracy and


ICT) This course is ideal if you want to study a vocational course, but need to improve your literacy, numeracy and IT skills. It is a short course leading to a BTEC Workskills Certificate. You will gain valuable skills which will help get you on track for higher level courses.

BTEC Workskills Award This 2-day course supports you in making informed choices about your course options. The programme will help improve your understanding of your strengths, weaknesses, skills and qualities to set career goals. You will find out information on different jobs you may be interested in as part of your career plan. The programme will also help you develop interview skills useful for work or getting on a course.


Units include:


• Preparing for an interview • Interview skills • Self assessment


Business On Track This course gives you the opportunity to develop your communication, finance and study skills. BTEC and IFS (Institute of Financial Services) certificates are awarded on successful completion of the course, which could also enable you to progress onto a BTEC National or First Diploma in Business course. 80% of last year’s students are currently studying on a Business level 3 course at the College.
