Music Performance edexcel BteC level 3 extended Diploma

This exciting performance course will help develop students’ expertise as a performer through musicianship and keyboard classes, rehearsal sessions and a wide variety of performances, including a tour of schools and gigs in local clubs.
You will gain expertise on your instrument/ voice through small group workshops and benefit from seminars and visits from our many links to the professional music industry. Additionally, you will learn essential music technology and production skills alongside music business studies to provide you with a really comprehensive and rounded training.

Entry requirements: Minimum four gCse passes (a* - C) in relevant subjects, including english, BteC 1st diploma or a related Level 2 qualification. Applicants over 21 may also be considered based on past work experience and two references will be required. All applicants will take part in an interview and audition and be given some basic aural tests.

This course is aimed at students who wish to advance their skills and technical knowledge in music technology and production with a view to gaining a qualification that will enable them to progress onto a higher level qualification, or seek employment in the music technology industry.
This course prepares students for entry into university to continue studying to degree level, or to employment in the music technology industry. Using our industry standard equipment, you will develop your skills in sequencing; sampling; recording; and mixing and mastering, resulting in music production of high standard. Alongside these practical technical elements, students will study the workings of the music industry, music keyboard skills and compositional skills.
Next steps: BteC higher national Certificate Level 4 or university.
Entry requirements: Students should have at least four gCses at grades a*- C, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification, or relevant work experience. Admission to this course is subject to proof of qualification. You must also have a minimum of 85% attendance on your previous course. You must bring a CD of recent work to your interview. Your music must demonstrate at least a basic understanding of commonly used sequencing software (Cubase or Logic for example).
