This is an intensive one-year course for students wishing to go on to university, but do not have the traditional university entry qualifications.
students will study it and specialist Business units including: Marketing, Business environment, human resources, Finance and Accounting to prepare them for degree study. Tutorial sessions will facilitate your UCAS applications. There is also a focus on the development of study skills to equip students for the requirements of higher education.
Next steps: Degree or higher education, such as South Thames College’s HND Business and Finance or BA Business management (with kingston university) or at an alternative higher education institution.

Legal Secretaries ilex Certificate
19+ | L2 | 1Y | T | FT | SEP |)| This course provides an introduction to legal administration, preparation for employment as a legal secretary/ administrator and will enable students to progress to a higher level legal secretarial qualification. Students will study a variety of topics related to legal administration - such as law, legal communications, client care, office administration, and legal text processing (including audio). students learn by completing assignments, compilation of a portfolio and an external proofreading text. in addition, the course will provide every opportunity to further develop interpersonal and it skills to enable students to communicate effectively at work. These skills are additionally certificated by gaining the OCR Text Processing (Business professional) level 2 award.
Entry requirements: Students will need good written communication skills. This will be assessed at an interview.
Next steps: progression onto the ilex Level 3 Diploma. A legal secretary may find employment in a law firm or other positions, such as local council offices and financial firms or in secretarial positions in general offices.
