Uniformed Public Services edexcel BteC level 2 diploma in Uniformed Public Services

This course is designed for students who wish to work in the public and uniformed careers such as the ambulance, fire, army and police services. The course provides opportunities for students to develop basic skills, knowledge and understanding through experiencing the range and types of activity that those serving the public are expected to carry out.


There is a strong emphasis on your own health, lifestyle and fitness and you will develop your physical sport and recreation skills.


The course consists of seven units, which include: public service skills, citizenship, the individual and society, adventurous activities and team work for the public services, employment in the uniformed public services, sport and recreation in the uniformed public services.


As part of the course you will also participate in outdoor activities such as map reading, high ropes and competitions organised by the services. The course will include functional skills in Communication and Number at the appropriate level.

Entry requirements: You will need either four gCses at least two graded D or above in relevant subjects (e.g. Citizenship, p.e. science, english and maths), or a merit grade or above BteC Level 1 Diploma (or a similar full Level 1 qualification) in a related area. relevant experience and/or training in the industry (e.g. cadets, voluntary work) will be considered in support of your application.

As part of the course students will also participate in outdoor activities such as map reading, high ropes and competitions organised by the services. The course also includes functional skills in Communication and Number at the appropriate level.


Next steps: Higher education or further training in the army, police or fire service.
