English General English
DURATION: Various (From 3 months to 2 Years) ATTENDANCE: part-time daY or eVe START DATES: sept, Jan and apr
general english is suitable if you:
• need to communicate in english in everyday situations
• want to obtain Cambridge english qualifications to help your career
• want english classes that include a focus on living and working in the UK
• want to prepare for other english studies
• want to progress to academic english, University Foundation Programme or other studies
Qualifications: Students can prepare for a Cambridge english exam such as First or Advanced Certificate. Some students achieve 2 or 3 of these during their time with us.
Next steps: Students can progress to one of South Thames College’s undergraduate or postgraduate courses or find a job.
Academic English / IELTS
DURATION: Various (From 3 months to 2 Years) ATTENDANCE: part-time daY or eVe START DATES: sept, Jan and apr
academic english/ielts is suitable if you:
• need english and study skills preparation for further study in english – pre-vocational, pre-degree, pre-masters or for professional registration
• need to obtain or improve your ielts score
• want to study in a lively academic environment where english is used all around you
• want english classes that include a focus on living and studying in the UK
• have at least a good intermediate level of english
• have made some arrangements for future studies
Qualifications: Students can prepare for ielts. We normally make this test available 4 times each year: March, June, August and December.
Next steps: Other undergraduate or postgraduate studies at South Thames College or another college or university.
Business English
DURATION: Various (From 3 months to 2 Years) ATTENDANCE: part-time daY or eVe START DATES: sept, Jan and apr
This is suitable if you:
• need to improve your english skills for professional or managerial purposes and communicate better in english in business situations
• want Cambridge english qualifications to help your international career
• want to study in a lively learning environment where english is used all around you
• want to prepare for a work placement / internship
• already have at least upper intermediate level english
Qualifications: You can prepare for a Cambridge Business english Certificate – BeC. the exams are available in march, June or December.
Next steps: You can progress to one of South Thames College’s undergraduate or postgraduate courses or find a job.
