Design
Students will get the chance to participate in visits to museums, exhibitions, commercial and professional events at home and abroad. During the year you will be encouraged to enter competitions and exhibit work in College display areas.
Entry requirements: evidence of a level 1 in Art and Design which may include: a BteC introductory diploma in art and design; a minimum of three gCses at grade D or above in relevant subjects, or equivalent qualifications and a relevant portfolio of Art/Design work which can be a sample of sketchbooks, samples of work or examples of relevant work experience. You will also need a Level 1 functional english and maths qualification or equivalent.
Next steps: Following the successful completion of this course you may wish to apply for a level 3 BteC national Certificate in interior design.

Interior Design edexcel BteC level 3 diploma in Art and Design

this is a specialist interior design programme which will offer you the opportunity to experience both domestic and commercial projects of varying lengths and complexity to give you an overview of this demanding and diverse industry.
The course will include project based tasks to include: observational drawing; working through the design cycle; exploring the principles of form; exploring and using materials technology method; finishes and products; perspective and isometric drawing; and orthographic projections. Students will gain skills in Sketchup, Photoshop and AutoCAD, art and design and learn about interior design history.

Entry requirements: evidence of a level 2 Art and Design qualification which may include: a BteC First diploma in art and design; a minimum of four gCses or equivalent qualifications, as well as a relevant portfolio of Art/Design work which can be a sample of sketchbooks, samples of work or examples of relevant work experience. You will also need a Level 2 functional english and maths qualification or equivalent. Basic computer skills would be an advantage.
Next steps: Following the successful completion of this course you may wish to apply for a BteC higher national Certificate in Spatial Design, a university course in interiors and spatial planning and design or interior design and Technology or seek employment in the relevant Creative industries.
