FilmLight is showing upgrades to its various products and technologies including Baselight. The new version 4.4 gets expanded creative tools, such as composite-style layer blending; workflow tools, including Generalised Colour Spaces, and faster processing with the Render Queue and Deliverables Manager. The v4.4 software runs on all Baselight systems, including the new Baselight One diskless, 4U tower system, with an internal 2TB solid-state cache. According to FilmLight, the latest version of Baselight Editions allows Avid editors to cut in Media Composer or Symphony – on Windows or Mac – with Baselight grades applied in a render-free round- trip workflow.

Slate, a compact grading

control panel, is now available for Baselight Editions.

FilmLight has also launched a smaller version of on-set tool Baselight Flip with connectivity for two cameras, the ability to log grading metadata to camera

RadiantGrid adds colour legalisation

Wohler Technologies By Will Strauss

Full broadcast-gamut colour legalisation is now available as an add-on for Wohler Technologies’ RadiantGrid. “The RadiantGrid

platform’s ability to legalise gamut for broadcast within a file-based workflow while ensuring the quality of that content is critical for broadcasters seeking to take advantage of transcoding automation,” said Kirk Marple, chief software architect for Wohler RadiantGrid. “As more and more

broadcast facilities embrace the RadiantGrid platform in their move toward workflow consolidation, this valuable option gives them confidence that processed content will meet stringent on-air quality and technical compliance requirements without the need to hop between multiple processing devices.” 10.B10
