Advances in the company’s implementation of its

HEVC/H.265 video codec and

in enabling 4K video processing are the IBC focus for Elemental Technologies, where the company is showcasing its full suite of multiscreen video

processing solutions.

Since NAB 2013, Elemental says that it has advanced its HEVC/H.265 codec

implementation to support 4K Ultra HD and to process 1080p HEVC video streams at 2.8Mbps – a 20% reduction in

bitrates.

The company is also talking to IBC visitors about recent wins it has secured, including Foxtel, where Elemental systems are used to process more than 50 channels of content for the Foxtel Go OTT and TV Everywhere

services. Elemental has also been selected by NDR (Nord Deutsche Rundfunk) where its systems are performing 24/7 encoding of live content and creating video streams for publicly and freely accessible web portals and mobile apps, and by Teleste, where it is is powering Optimo, a complete multiscreen solution for managing and distributing TV channels and interactive services on DVB, IPTV and OTT networks. In addition, Keith Wymbs, VP marketing at Elemental, noted that the Elemental Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) has been deployed on three continents. “With Elemental Cloud, customers have unprecedented insight into their own transcoding trends and control over resources, cost and availability,” he said. 4.B75
