theibcdaily Saturday 14.09.13 123 An Air of Mistika for Ultra HD

SGO By Carolyn Giardina

SGO is showing Mistika Post version 7.4 with a new shape tracker and Mistika Air for Ultra HD support.

Mistika Air for broadcasters

provides HD, 4K and 8K support. This includes a 4K video-board for 4K QuadHDMI and 4K QuadDVI.

Pioneering antenna launched Hiltron

Communications By Ian McMurray

Introducing what is probably the world’s first triple-axis motorised 2.4 metre receive- only Ka-band antenna with switchable linear and circular polarisation is Hiltron Communications.

The new HMAM-Ka was developed in close co- operation between Hiltron and ESA Microwave, based on a newly designed Ka- band polariser. Ka-band includes the 21GHz band which Hiltron says is increasingly important for satellite downlinks. Hiltron’s HMAM-Ka incorporates a complete high-precision rotatable satellite antenna mount designed for use in commercial satellite operations. It includes professional-grade motorised drives for azimuth and elevation plus a high- accuracy polarisation drive. The HMAM-Ka can

accommodate antennas of up to 3.7 metres diameter and is fully compatible with Hiltron’s standard HACU antenna positioning system. 4.B89

Shape Tracker is an

automated tracking tool with shape, stabilisation and motion smoothing functions. Mistika’s latest colour grading

features include the ability to combine colour selections across layers, with all layers

having a complete set of colour transform functions. It also includes an updated grading interface, including new curves mode for fine colour control, choice of blending modes for every layer, and new mask processing options.

High framerates are available via four SDI-3G or four HDMI 1.3 (also one HDMI 1.4). HFR and 4K HDMI rasters are also available.

Additionally, SGO is

introducing the development of a clustered processing feature,

which enables realtime playback by allowing mutiple Mistika systems or render nodes to pre-cache items from another Mistika system’s timeline.

Mistika 7.4 also offers new 3D features, improved DCP creation tools that now include 60 frames per second support, as well as XML and AAF support. 6.A11
