Florence, OR, Lodge members and ladies auxiliary members gave more than 2,600 home-baked cookies to veterans at the Roseburg VA medical facility. The lodge also donated $1,000 to the facility to buy phone cards for veterans over the Christmas holidays.


Gresham, OR, Lodge donated 720 bus passes to the Portland VA Medical Center to be given to veterans who ride the bus to their medical appoint- ments. The more than $1,000 used to purchase the passes was raised by the lodge’s 1805 Players Club at a Variety Show fund-raiser.


Allegheny, PA, Lodge members visited the Pittsburgh VA medical facility on University Drive and provided 25 veterans with refreshments and live musical entertainment by the Pitts- burgh Banjo Club. The lodge also donated 12 large boxes of books, clothing, games, and other items to the facility to be given to patients.


Bellefonte, PA, Lodge members visited 15 veterans at the Centre Crest Nursing Home and gave each of them a gift bag containing a lap blanket, a Christmas card, a Christ- mas ornament, and toiletries.


Columbia/Middletown, PA, Lodge hosted a Christmas Dinner for 22 veterans from the Lebanon VA Medical Center and provided them with a meal followed by bingo and other games. The lodge donated 40 electric razors to the center to be given to veterans and also gave each veteran a Christmas stocking full of gifts and a Christmas card containing $50.


Coventry-West Greenwich, RI, Lodge members honored US Army veteran Corey Bates, US Navy veteran Eugene Pytka, and US Marine Corps veteran Norman Vadnais in a ceremony at the local American Legion hall. Lodge members presented each of the veterans with a framed certificate in honor of his service. Lodge members also honored US Navy veteran Russell

Titusville, PA, Lodge members visited the Erie VA Medical Center and donated nearly $290 worth of quarters and one-dollar coins to be used as prizes in bingo games. Murrells Inlet, SC, Lodge members volunteered to serve lunch at a Christmas Party for about 70 veterans at the Myrtle Beach VA Community- Based Outpatient Clinic.


Deadwood, SD, Lodge members visited the Fort Meade VA medical facility and gave blankets and lap robes to more than 100 veterans.


Sioux Falls, SD, Lodge hosted a dinner for 19 veterans from the Sioux Falls VA medical facility. Lodge members also gave each veteran a sweat suit.


Knoxville, TN, Lodge held its fourth annual Turkey Shoot fund-raiser. The event raised $300 for Christmas gifts for veterans at the Ben Atchley State Veterans Home.


Houston, TX, Lodge and ladies auxiliary held a Christmas Party at the lodge for 100 veterans from the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, the medical center’s domicili- ary, and the DeGeorge Project, which serves homeless veterans. Lodge members provided the partygoers with a Christmas dinner and gave each veteran a gift.


Vernal, UT, Lodge members visited the Uintah Care Center and the Uintah Basin Rehabilitation and Senior Villa and gave blankets to the 28 veterans living at the two nursing homes. Lodge members also visited two homebound veterans and gave each of them a blanket.


Hampton, VA, Lodge provided over- night lodging and food to the members of the Re-Creation USA troupe following the troupe’s USO-style variety show performance at the Hampton VA Medical Center. Lodge members and members of other Southeast District lodges also at- tended the performance.


Newport News, VA, Lodge donated 100 food bags and 90 clothing kits to the Hampton VA Medical Center to be given to homeless veterans. Each kit was intended to meet the basic needs of the veteran who received it.


Green Bay, WI, Lodge donated $500 worth of gift cards for gasoline purchases to Disabled American Veterans. The gasoline gift cards were intended to help provide transporta- tion for veterans to VA medical facilities. Lodge members also invited several members of the local Disabled American Veterans chapter to dinner at the lodge. ■
