Mission Viejo-Saddleback Valley, CA, Lodge held a Christmas Party for about 200 children and adults with disabilities. Lodge members provided lunch for the guests, followed by dancing and a visit with Santa, who gave each partygoer a backpack filled with gifts. Elroy the Elk also visited with the partygoers. In other news, lodge members distributed dictionaries to a total of 4,400 third-grade students in the Saddleback Valley and Capistrano Unified School Districts.
In more news, the lodge Camping Club donated $420 worth of gift cards to South County Outreach. The gift cards were included in Christmas boxes that were given to needy Orange County families.
Petaluma, CA, Lodge held a Christ- mas Party for more than 100 children. Lodge members held a sing-along for the children and provided them with food, crafts, and a visit with Santa.
Salinas, CA, Lodge members donated nearly 240 Christmas presents to the Salvation Army to be given to needy children. The lodge also donated $250 and several barrels of canned food to the Food Bank for Monterey County.
San Fernando, CA, Lodge donated a pickup truck load of turkeys, hams, and other food items to the San Fernando Police Department to be given to needy families.
San Luis Obispo, CA, Lodge members honored 11 outstanding law enforce- ment officers and firefighters in a ceremony at the lodge and presented each of them with a certificate in thanks for his or her service. Lodge members also provided a meal for a total of 89 emergency services provid- ers, family members, and guests.
Santa Ana, CA, Lodge members distributed 6,500 dictionaries to third- grade students in 54 schools.

Orange, CA, Lodge members honored La Veta Elementary School sixth grader Dalton Saunders in a ceremony at the lodge and gave him a certificate in recognition of his volunteer efforts at the lodge. In other news, lodge members delivered Christmas baskets to more than 200 needy families. Each basket contained enough food for a full Christmas dinner and a toy for each child in the family. In more news, lodge members cooked and donated 26 turkeys to Mary’s Kitchen, which provides free meals and other services to needy families and individuals.
Paradise, CA, Lodge members honored student Lauryn Gregorio in a ceremony at the lodge. In 2011, Gregorio received a $4,000 ENF Most Valuable Student scholarship, a $2,000 scholarship from the lodge, and an $800 scholarship from the North District. Sonora, CA, Lodge donated more than $800 worth of pennies to Operation MOM to help send care packages to US troops stationed overseas and support military families with emer- gency needs.
Stockton, CA, Lodge members invited three needy children to join relatives
of lodge members at the lodge’s Children’s Christmas Party.
Temecula Valley, CA, Lodge members presented a handmade quilt to US Army SFC Joel Farrens in a ceremony at the lodge. The quilt was given in honor of Sergeant Farrens’ three tours of duty in Iraq.
