York, NE, Lodge members delivered food baskets to nearly 210 needy families. Each basket contained enough food for a full Christmas dinner. Lodge members also gave gift cards for a grocery store to another 49 couples in need of assistance.


Reno, NV, Lodge members delivered Christmas food baskets to more than 160 needy families. Each family received a basket containing a tradi- tional Christmas dinner, several days’ worth of additional food, and toys for their children.


Derry-Salem, NH, Lodge members treated 46 senior citizens to a Thanks- giving dinner at the lodge. Lodge members also delivered Thanksgiving dinners to 96 people who could not leave their homes.


Belleville, NJ, Lodge donated $250 worth of food to St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church’s food pantry; $250 worth of food to the Wesley United Methodist Church food pantry; and $1,000 worth of food to Mary and Martha’s Soup Kitchen, which is run by Christ Episcopal Church of Clifton. The lodge also provided food baskets to six needy families at Thanksgiving and eight needy families at Christmas. Each basket contained enough food for a full holiday meal. The donations were made with the help of a $2,000 ENF Gratitude Grant.


Bordentown, NJ, Lodge held its annual Christmas Party for about 80 children from the community. The children were provided with lunch and a visit with Santa, who gave each child a gift.


In related news, the lodge hosted a Christmas Party for 17 children with special needs and their families. A total of 70 people attended the party, which featured breakfast, crafts, and an appearance by Santa, who gave each of the 17 children and each of their siblings a present. In other news, the lodge Camera Club donated $100 to the lodge Special Children’s Committee.


In more news, the lodge donated 15 boxes of toys to the Bordentown National Guard Armory to be given out at Christmas parties for the children of deployed national guardsmen.

Cedar Grove, NJ, Lodge members distributed thesauruses to nearly 160 third-grade students in three area elementary schools.


Closter, NJ, Lodge donated a $1,000 ENF Gratitude Grant to a food bank.


Edgewater Park, NJ, Lodge held a Christmas Party for ten children with special needs. Lodge members pro- vided the children and the 20 parents who attended the event with refresh- ments and entertainment by a magician. The children also visited Santa, who gave each child a gift.


Lacey, NJ, Lodge held the 26th annual Lacey Township Christmas Parade. Roughly 2,000 members of local civic organizations took part in the parade, and hundreds of people watched it. Lodge members gave 200 stuffed toy animals to children who attended the parade and collected eight shopping cart loads of nonperishable goods for the Lacey Food Bank Program.


Long Branch, NJ, Lodge, with the help of several teenage volunteers, held a Thanksgiving Day Meal for needy families. More than 100 people were served at the event.


Huntington, NY, Lodge members attended a Court of Honor Ceremony for new Eagle Scout Daniel Hussey, of Boy Scout Troop No. 125, and presented him with a certificate. For his Eagle Scout Project, Hussey made interpretive signs for the historic buildings maintained by the Smithtown Historical Society. Pictured with Hussey is Est. Lect. Knight Peter Demidovich.


North Central District, NJ, Special- Needs Children Committee held its annual Christmas Party at the First Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey center. The approximately 50 children in attendance were provided with entertainment by a magician, lunch, and a visit with Santa, who gave each child a gift.


Jamestown, NY, Lodge provided dinner for 300 people, among whom were people with developmental disabilities and their families. The dinner was held at a local church in cooperation with Aspire, which is a charity that helps children and adults with disabilities live as independently as possible. The lodge also donated $1,100 to buy presents for the partygoers.
