About 60 children and their parents attended the party, which featured a meal and an appearance by Santa Claus, who gave each child a bag of candy and a present.

Freeport-Baldwin, NY, Lodge member Joseph Lugo allowed his head to be shaved in return for $1,000 in dona- tions to One in Nine: The Long Island Breast Cancer Action Coalition.


Liberty, NY, Lodge held a Christmas Party for needy children. The 200 children who attended the event and their parents were provided with lunch, and the children visited Santa Claus, who gave each child a gift. Lodge members were assisted by members of the Antlers Program. In other news, the lodge held a Turkey Dinner fund-raiser and raised $900 for lodge charities for youth. In more news, lodge members distributed dictionaries to more than 140 fourth-grade students at three elementary schools.


Lockport, NY, Lodge raised $2,000 from a Golf Tournament to benefit the lodge’s Camp Happiness. Camp Happiness is a day camp for children with disabilities. Lodge members were assisted at the tournament fund-raiser by members of the local chapter of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.


Massapequa, NY, Lodge held a party for children with cerebral palsy and their parents. More than 250 people attended the party, which featured lunch, balloon animals, face painting, and dancing. Each child in attendance visited Santa and Mrs. Claus, who gave each child a present.


South District, NY, lodges donated more than 200 toys to the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The toys were donated at the district’s annual Christmas Party.


Webster-Fairport, NY, Lodge mem- bers delivered Christmas food boxes to six needy families. Each family received a basket containing a full Christmas dinner, food for several more meals, household supplies, and presents for their children. Santa Claus accompanied the lodge members on the deliveries and presented the gifts to the children.


Titusville, PA, Lodge held a Christmas Party for 90 children, among whom were children and grandchildren of Elks and children who take part in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, which helps build positive relation- ships between adult volunteers and young people. In addition to the children, a number of parents, Big Brothers, and Big Sisters attended. The party featured skating, arcade games, food, beverages, and a visit from Santa Claus, who gave each child a gift, a goody bag, and a one- dollar coin. West Central District, NY, lodges held a Traveling Pasta Dinner fund-raiser at the Webster-Fairport Lodge. The dinner was attended by 75 people and raised $400 for the state major project, which supports the Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State.


Newport, RI, Lodge held a Christmas Party for 60 Newport Public School children with special needs. The party featured lunch, entertainment by clowns, and a visit with Santa, who gave each child a hat, a pair of gloves, and a gift. Pictured with Santa (PDD Peter Fucito) and Mrs. Claus (Est. Lead. Raleigh, NC, Lodge hosted an Intro- duction to Outdoor Leader Skills Weekend for adult scout leaders from the Impeesa District of the Occonee- chee Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The lodge donated the use of its grounds for the event, and lodge members helped teach outdoor survival techniques to the 24 future scout leaders who attended the event. In other news, the lodge donated $360 to Operation Helping Hands for Heroes, which sends care packages to US troops serving overseas and assists the families of deployed troops. The
