Murrells Inlet, SC, Lodge members gave Christmas hams to 31 volunteers in recognition for their work at the Myrtle Beach VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic. In other news, lodge members sent $500 worth of telephone cards to US Air Force airmen serving at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.


Knoxville, TN, Lodge held its annual Christmas Party for patients of the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital Rehabilitation Center and their siblings and parents. Lodge members provided a meal and musical enter- tainment to the more than 300 people who attended the event. The 90 children who attended the event also had a chance to visit Santa Claus, who gave each child a present. Lodge members also gave each child an ornament.


In other news, lodge members participated in a Chili Cookout fund- raiser for the Second Harvest Food Bank and raised more than $800 for the food bank.


Lawrenceburg, TN, Lodge members distributed more than 500 dictionaries to third-grade students in area elementary schools.


Denison, TX, Lodge held its annual Toys for Tots Spaghetti Dinner and collected 215 toys and $95 in cash donations for the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.


Houston, TX, Lodge members deliv- ered Christmas boxes to 150 needy families. Each box contained a full holiday dinner plus enough food for several more meals.


Newport, VT, Lodge held a Thanksgiv- ing Dinner, and lodge members provided 325 senior citizens with a meal at the lodge. Lodge members also delivered 175 Thanksgiving dinners to senior citizens who could not leave their homes.


Arlington-Fairfax, VA, Lodge members gave food baskets to 52 needy families.

Battle Ground, WA, Lodge, with the help of scouts from Boy Scout Troop No. 475 and students from Battle Ground High School, held its annual Christmas Party for 70 special education students and their families. The party featured lunch, games, and musical enter- tainment, and each child visited Santa and received a bag of goodies and a gift. Winchester, VA, Lodge donated $1,000 and lodge members contributed a further $1,000 to help 12 Young Marines from the Shenandoah Valley Detachment travel to Pearl Harbor, HI, for the ceremonies marking the 70th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Lodge members accompanied the Young Marines on their trip. each of the 195 family members who requested one. The lodge donated 55 coats that were left over to a private citizen who gives the coats to homeless people who do not go to shelters. In other news, the lodge held a Christmas Party for more than 65 children with spina bifida. The children were given snacks and beverages and had the opportunity to enjoy a puppet show and a visit with Santa, who gave each child a gift.


Charlottesville, VA, Lodge members, with the help of a $2,000 ENF Grati- tude Grant, prepared Christmas food boxes and delivered them to 45 needy families. Each box contained enough food for a full Christmas dinner.


Fredericksburg, VA, Lodge members honored the winners of the lodge’s Soccer Shoot in a ceremony at the lodge. Lodge members presented soccer balls, T-shirts, and trophies to the first- and second-place boy and girl in each of four age-groups.


Front Royal, VA, Lodge donated $100 to help 12 Young Marines from the Shenandoah Valley Detachment travel to Pearl Harbor, HI, for the ceremo- nies marking the 70th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor.
