Casa Grande Valley, AZ, Lodge members took 28 needy children shopping for clothing and shoes at a retail store. Following the shopping trip, the children were given lunch, followed by entertainment by a magician and a visit with Santa Claus, who gave each child a gift. The total cost of the event was about $5,000. Pictured with one of the children is Santa Claus (PER Robert Mottle).


In other news, the lodge hosted a Christmas Eve Visit from Santa and provided about 300 children and family members with a visit from Santa, who gave each child a gift. In more news, lodge members sent 21 packages of manufacturers’ discount coupons to US military families living overseas.


Kingman, AZ, Lodge member Greag Meriwether and Mechanicville- Stillwater, NY, Lodge member Christine Marie gathered donations for two charities. They gathered enough toys for about 100 children and about $60 in cash donations for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, and they gathered about $60 in cash and about 250 pounds of pet food for For the Luv of Paws, a no-kill animal shelter.


Lake Havasu City, AZ, Lodge mem- bers accompanied 73 needy children on a shopping trip and gave each of them more than $110 to buy clothing at a retail store. Following the trip, lodge members gave the children breakfast and gave each child a gift.

Catalina Mountain, AZ, Lodge members took 35 needy children shopping for $175 worth of clothing each. Following the shopping trip, lodge members had a Christmas Party for the children. Partygoers were given lunch and visited Santa and Mrs. Claus, who gave each child a toy and a goody bag containing snacks and school supplies. In other news, the lodge held a Raffle fund-raiser, which featured a small hand-carved chest that was donated by a lodge member serving in Afghanistan. The raffle raised more than $1,200 for the Steele Children’s Research Center, which searches for cures and treatments for childhood diseases and is one of the state major projects.


Green Valley, AZ, Lodge members, accompanied by Santa Claus, visited the Del Coronado Senior Living Apartments and hosted a Christmas Party and Lunch for the 97 residents. Lodge members gave each partygoer a Christmas card, a small cash gift, and a gift bag containing toiletries, candy, playing cards, and other items. Lodge members also awarded door prizes to 20 of the residents. In other news, lodge members delivered Christmas food boxes to 33 needy families. Each box contained a full Christmas dinner and enough food for several more meals.


In related news, the lodge held a Children’s Shopping event, at which children were able to buy presents for their parents and friends at prices ranging from 5 to 25 cents. Santa
