Thousand Oaks, CA, Lodge members delivered Christmas boxes to 60 senior citizens and 73 needy families. Each box contained a full Christmas dinner, and the boxes delivered to families also contained a toy for each of the families’ children.


Santa Barbara, CA, Lodge members attended a Court of Honor Ceremony for new Eagle Scout Galen Collins, of lodge-sponsored Boy Scout Troop No. 37, and gave him a copy of the US Constitution. For his Eagle Scout Project, Collins refurbished the horse corrals at the Santa Barbara Humane Society. Collins was the seventh scout from Troop No. 37 to attain the rank of Eagle Scout in 2011. Westchester, CA, Lodge donated $1,100 and several cases of soft drinks and drinking water to the USO Greater Los Angeles to support the Bob Hope Hollywood USO Center at Los Angeles International Airport. The USO center provides a place for US military personnel and family members to relax at the airport. In other news, the lodge provided food and organized activities at the Autumn Fest at the Imperial PAU school, which serves children with severe disabilities. More than 300 children, family members, and staff attended the party, which featured lunch, face painting, and entertain- ment by a clown.


In more news, the lodge donated the use of its grounds to the Heartfelt Foundation to hold a Holiday Party for more than 1,100 needy children. A lodge member played the part of Santa Claus, and other lodge members set up, supervised activities, cooked food, and cleaned up afterward.


Willows, CA, Lodge held a Scouting Dinner fund-raiser and raised more than $2,500 to support the lodge’s three sponsored scout troops, Girl Scout Troop No. 156, Cub Scout Pack No. 68, and Boy Scout Troop No. 57.


Canon City, CO, Lodge members delivered Christmas food baskets to 40 needy families. Each basket contained a full holiday meal for a family of four.


Simi Valley, CA, Lodge gave Christmas food baskets to 85 needy families. Santa, who was present at the lodge, visited with the children of the families as they came in to pick up their baskets and gave each child a toy. In related news, lodge members provided a Christmas meal for nearly 400 people at two hospices and two social service centers.


In other news, the lodge and ladies auxiliary held their annual Christmas Party for members of


the Simi Valley Recreation and Park District’s Alternative Learning Group. More than 100 guests attended the party, which included dinner, dancing, and visits with Elroy the Elk and Santa. Santa gave each of the partygoers a gift. Lodge members were also assisted by scouts from lodge- sponsored Girl Scout Troop No. 60128.

Delta, CO, Lodge, with the help of a $2,000 ENF Promise Grant, held a New Year’s Eve at Noon Party. A total of 75 young people and 43 adults attended the event. The party featured lunch, games, music, entertainment by a magician, and a sparkling apple cider toast. In other news, lodge members, along with members of a local motor- cycle club, delivered Christmas food baskets to 16 needy families. Each basket contained a full Christmas
